Heads-up: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
